It`s time to visit Rome
Rome... I've been there two times, both times in a single year. This ancient city so beautifully preserved is the place I would go back to anytime. Even though in summer the temperature is very high and it's not so great to walk for hours considering this fact, during spring or fall, I think it's the perfect destination for a city break.
Here are some unique places you can visit in Rome:
- Trevi Fountain
- Piazza Venezia
- Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi
- Roman Forum
… and many other amazing locations.
I`m not here to talk about tourist attractions, I`m writing this article to tell you some other things you won`t find on the first page if you google “What to visit in Rome”.
First of all, always have water in your bag. The city is beautiful and you will walk much so be prepared and stay hydrated. Try to negotiate when you want to buy souvenirs, most of the times you will get a discount, not as significant as in China, there if you have the patience and the skills (language, cheep chat) to talk to the people, you get things almost for free.
Rome is expensive so be careful where you choose to have dinner, you might be shocked when you get the note. I don`t know how pasta tastes in the countries you guys come from but here, there is a lot of sauce in it. Well, I was so thrilled to eat pasta in Italy and I was surprised when I saw that they barely use dressing (sauce) there. What can I say, I love the dressings for pasta.
The city is beautiful and totally worth visiting, so my advice is to walk as much as you can. Don`t use the bus or taxi so much, you will miss a lot of interesting things.
I have a saying: "We travel to America to see great future (IT industry), Americans travel to Europe to see great history (Rome)"
Have you even been in Rome? What did you like most about the city?
